Was in town and wanted to stop in for a familiar sight. I have been to Red Robin on the East Coast so I knew that I could count on a good burger. The food here was fine, it was exactly what I expected. They get 2 stars for that much. The rest, however, was difficult. The Men's Restroom was out of toilet paper when I first arrived. Not a big deal, and as I was leaving the restroom I passed an employee who was entering, so I thought it would be taken care of. I went back about 10 minutes later to no avail, still not fixed. By the time our waitress finally came around to get our drink orders (at least 10 minutes later) I alerted her to the bathroom situation. It was not fixed until we left more than an hour later. When we ordered we asked for our side dishes, a side of fries and a side of broccoli, to come out before main courses. This has never been a problem for me at other Red Robin locations but it was impossible here. The restaurant was almost empty but I felt like we were getting the amount of attention and care that I would expect when the restaurant was slammed. If this place ever does get busy I would suspect that it's much worse. On the way out I alerted the manager to some of my concerns (a couple of hygiene issues including the toilet paper situation). There are so many great places to eat in Cedar Rapids, skip this one.

Servers were not pleasant, seemed unhappy to be there. Food was ok, but not worth the price so I won't be eating at any others and this was my first experience with any red robin. So sad, was expecting better.

Cant give 0 stars. Each time we have come here the service is AWFUL! We cannot state how bad it has been, and each time we think it's a fkuke, we try the place again, and service is even worse than before. Never again, will we come here. Emailed corporate offices and they offered a gift card to compensate. We turned it down. The only way this place could get any better is to fire every one and start over from scratch. We have been to other Red Robin locations without any issues. This one just doesn't have a clue. Save yourself, unless your so hungry that you would be willing to eat dirt, while being poked with flaming skewers, avoid this location.

I'll echo another reviewer: "Servers were unpleasant, seemed unhappy to be there". That was my experience to a T. The hostess that sat us mentioned she didn't want to seat us at a particular table because "She was too tired to wipe it off". We sat in the bar area which was serviced by a clearly over-worked bar tender - he served my order to someone else and visa versa. Food was overpriced and of average quality. Grill your own burger and save $15.

Had a good bacon cheeseburger tonight. Fries were just ok. Burger wasn't seasoned, which is crucial. 99% positive that they watered down the ranch, and that's not cool either. You could tell that their waitstaff was once again, annoyed by doing their job. Ie, NO...extra napkins, a water, a fork, etc.....NOT A BIG DEAL, but she made it into one, by not doing her job(we asked for all of them.....only to get an attitude). There is a reason that I haven't been there, in months, and this is why.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. We have tried this place several times. We gave up because the service was always terrible. Well, today we tried it again for the first time in about a year. Same problem. Took forever to get our order taken. The place was filthy. Nearly all empty tables were dirty. My drink order was wrong. They forgot my son's drink even after reminding the waitress. They never once came back to offer refills. Food was okay. Not great. They were out of ice cream and ciabatta rolls. But, the bad service just killed it for us. We won't be back.

Stopped in on NYE for a quick drink and bite to eat. I sat at the bar and the bartenders were very friendly and attentive. As far as Red Robin's go, I'd give this place a thumbs-up.

Solid burger joint. The kitchen staff were very accomodating: I've been low-carbing lately, and asked for my burger in a lettuce wrap. What arrived in front of me was simply the best-cooked burger I've eaten in quite some time--I hardly noticed the missing bun. Our waitress was friendly, fast, and capable. The dining room is pleasant and not too loud. If I'm jonesing for a burger, I know where I'm heading!

So been many red robins over the years. But this one has to be the worst .Not just one time every time , three times to be exact .service sucks, I waited 15 minutes for a drink and there was maybe 20 people in the whole restaurant. Soup was supposed to come out before the meal and every came out at the same time. Management doesn't seem to care sounds like a broken record or robot with responses. Will never go back to this one again. Had to choose one star doesn't even deserve it.

Went there to satisfy a red robin craving and was surprised by the horrible service. It was clearly under staffed. When we walked in there were people waiting but all the tables were empty and waiting to be cleared. When we got our table, we had to remind the server twice about our drink order and waited 45 minutes for our food. Or burgers were clearly sitting out for at least 5 minutes. I don't normally yelp but felt like this restaurant was under staffed and gave very disappointing service.

Food was great, but I only give it 3 stars because the service was so bad here. FOOD: 7/10 A.1. Peppercorn ($10.79) strong peppercorn taste, which makes the patty taste pretty unique. adds a boost of flavor. the crispy onion straws add a crisp to each bite as well. Bleu Ribbon ($10.49) i'm not a huge fan of bleu cheese, but this tasted pretty good. not too strong. the crispy onion straws were great in this one too, making each bite nice and crispy. Royal Red Robin ($10.49) egg in my burger? yes, please! i would have liked the egg slightly less cooked in this burger though, with the yolk oozing out a bit. other than that, the egg did well to enhance the burger. however, i do feel that this (out of the 3 listed here) tasted the most normal, so i might try for something more unique next time i come. i feel like this burger should have been slightly cheaper than the rest since eggs aren't too expensive and this didn't include anything like crispy onion straws or unique cheeses or anything. Garlic Fries a must!!!! unlimited garlic fries. the first time they came out, they didn't put enough garlic seasoning, so most of the fries were just like the normal fries. the second time they were much better. they also have sweet potato fries (which i usually like), and regular fries, but the garlic fries is still on the top for me. the only thing i might have against it ... is how thick they are. a little too potato-y when it's so thick. SERVICE: 2/10 Service was pretty terrible at this location. The waitress didn't come to fill our water until after our dessert came out. I waited for a while with an empty glass, waiting for the waitress to come, but she didn't stop by too much. Also, when we wanted refills for our fries, after waiting for a bit, they told us it would be out in 2-3 minutes .. and it didn't come for maybe another 10 minutes or so. we didn't really get our money's worth for the fries since they came out so slow. we waited so long .. our stomach window was closing. Oh, also... our waitress spilled water over all the straws on her trays ... and still gave those straws to us. We asked why they were wet and she just said because she spilled water on them ....

Fun atmosphere. Great for families. Nice for large groups. This restaurant is quite large, so I can't imagine you'd have to wait long for a seat, even on a busy night. The last time I dined here I ordered the mac 'n' cheese. It was tasty, but nothing to write home about. Their steak fries are average at best and they offer unlimited refills on the fries-awesome. Any burger an be converted into a veggie burger, which is great for a vegetarian like myself. 3/5 stars because the restaurant concept itself is nothing new, food is average and service wasn't above and beyond.

Red Robin, there are a few things I need to tell you and it is not going to be easy, but you have changed since I last visited, and I am not sure we can still be friends. First, your flavored iced tea. Could this taste anymore artificial? I felt like I was drinking a glass of watered down cough syrup. Next, why did you go away from the one page menu? Now there is this mini book that I have to read through to find anything. How many different pages/categories do you need for burgers! Third, can we get a little more fries with our meal to start? This little tiny cup thing is pitiful. 10 fries is not enough, give us a half plateful! It is bottomless! Last, why so slow? At a kids focus restaurant making primarily burgers it should not take 30 minutes to get food in my opinion. One good note is that the burgers and fries did change much and still hit the spot, but the effort was just not worth the hassle. Sorry Red Robin, it will be a while before we see each other again, and that is only if you are willing to change back to the Red Robin I know and enjoyed.

Ordered it for meals for carryout 3 salad and a burger. We were quoted a 15 to 20 minute wait time arrive in about 15 or 20 minutes and proceeded to wait for another 30 minutes at least. The staff that did acknowledge us were friendly however less than helpful once we finally got our food we noticed all of the dressings we're missing honest mistake but it took 15 minutes just to get that, during which time we saw multiple employees including the manager guy in the button up shirt right? Who did not acknowledge us whatsoever until we left the establishment once we had finally received the dressing which was obviously quite the task for the 20 employees working compared to the 40 50 tops diners in the establishment. I gave this place a second shot after I found a hair in my burger 3 years ago and needless to say I will not be back if you have tons of time and want mediocre food stop in

Aside from the vomit covered bathroom and the insanely long wait for food, this place was grand-o indeed. The manager on duty, realised I'd waited forever and brought me some hot, fresh fries as soon as they were done cookin'. I appreciated the gesture, but I shouldn't have had to wait so long to begin with! BBQ chicken wrap w/ garlic parm fries is normally where it's at in here, throw in some onion rings and a mint choc shake and you got yourself a fab lunch (and probably heart disease and type 2 diabetes to boot!) yummo!

Hands down, best restaurant I have ever been to! Our family of 5 got there and they said it would take 10-15 minutes to be seated, 30 seconds later we are seated! Wow! Got our food within 10 minutes of when we ordered. I have no idea what happened to the people that came to this restaurant and wrote bad reviews, but this restaurant was excellent. They even had excellent service! When we were eating our waitress brought 2 drinks of refills for 2 of my family members and we didn't even have to ask! Later we were using the ketchup and it was a little hard to get out because it was running low, next thing I know our outstanding waitress came and gave us some ketchup, we didn't even have to ask. This restaurant even has free refills on not only drinks but also fries! We were in and out of this restraint within 35 minutes! This restaurant is hands down the best I've ever been to.

My burger was delicious along with my shake. Appetizers were ok. Horrible service. Huge busy place, felt a bit like I was in a bus station.

Horrible service as usual. No organization in the kitchen as tables were sat and had orders placed after my table, but we were very last to receive food. Waitress was stretched too thin to handle the tables assigned but kept us hydrated. Take a tip away from her, no... But no way to show frustration. It wouldnt be bad if this was the only time but we always for some reason come back. Gluten for punishment. My poor 2 year old.

Skip all fried appetizers. Tried the fried pretzel bite last time and onion rings this time. Sent both back. Fry oil was past its prime. Made food really bitter and dripping with oil. Ensenada chicken good and reds double too. Service good but if your child orders a refill on the root beer float or fries plan to wait.

Straight up, you gotta have some love for Red Robin. Anywhere that serves up a signature burger that goes to town and then slaps an egg on top is somewhere I gotta give props to. Unlike many of the other reviewers, we've had consistently good service here. They're good about bringing extra sauces, pre-meal fries (It's legit!) and making sure your bottomless insert beverage here is topped off. The Burgers are always great and if you want something they don't have on the menu, they'll make it for ya! They also recently started serving up sweet potato fries and are now substituting the garlic/parmesan fries for free - Red Robin 1, my cholesterol more than one! Great burger place that consistently serves up great burgers, excellent fries, interesting decor and some great songs when it's your birthday!

I have been here twice before and never written a review. Mainly because it was such a poor experience I didn't want to think about it again. Enter my daughter, who having been a toddler the last time we went here, decided that for her 13th birthday dinner we would eat here. Wish she had chosen some place else. It was 7pm on a Sunday and there wasn't a huge crowd. We were shown right to a table and given our slightly sticky menus. Our server comes by and asks for our drink order and does a poor job of suggestive selling an appetizer. "Do you want something to start". Bet the manager wants you giving suggestions. We get our drinks in a timely manner and order. We wait and we wait. The server is around cleaning her other tables, but not an encouraging word about the status of two cheeseburgers. We wait and we wait some more. It's freezing in here. Really unseasonably cold weather this weekend and the restaurant felt like a meat locker. Here comes the food! Hurray! It's been about 30 minutes and the people who came in after us with a different server are already eating. The burgers tasted fine. But why bother asking if I want some pink showing in the burger if it's going to be well done anyway? Didn't even ask. Another server comes over and lowers the blinds at our window (didn't even ask) because it was shining across the restaurant. When I mentioned that we had been enjoying the warmth from the sun, he told us to sit closer to the window. Wow, did you learn that customer service attitude at McDonalds? Check came. We paid. We tipped. We left. We won't be back.

Good vegan spicy burger! Prompt and courteous service with a smile. Of all places, I read in a PETA publication (in an article about food to try while traveling) that Red Robins everywhere have several good vegan meal options. Nothing fancy of course. They needed an extra reminder that the burger was ordered without cheese (this seems to be a common theme in middle America- like the waiter walks away from the table thinking "...why wouldn't she want cheese? That must be a mistake, she couldn't have meant that...") but the food was fresh. I was reminded of how much I've always liked Red Robin.

Their burgers are pretty tasty...you can't go wrong with the Whiskey River BBQ burger or the Bleu Ribbon burger. You get endless fries when you order a burger, so if you're hungry, thats always a plus. The service on the other hand, just stinks. My last two visits had long wait times for the server to even come take the drink order. They've also forgotten my sides and my drink sat empty for at least 10 minutes. Now if they were busier than you know what, I don't mind to wait so much. But, when its my table and just one more the server has to worry about, then I have a problem. I don't visit here often since its an hour away, so I wouldn't be sad if I never ate here again.

When we first walked in, one of the servers was up at the host stand, talking to another party waiting. They asked if they could sit at the bar, where she replied, "No sorry, the bartender has to make drinks and stuff so we can't seat him too much." There was probably only a couple people sitting at the bar, so I thought that was pretty rude, consider making drinks is his job, and if he can't handle his guests at the bar plus the servers drinks then he should be demoted and they need to find someone else, because THAT'S HIS JOB. She was SOOO rude (server at host desk) and when we were helped she made us feel that we were an inconvenience to the whole place (we had 6 people including myself.) I won't name names, but I do remember her name, I thought she was extremely distasteful and rude! The burgers were supposed to have "some pink", more like a dried out patty. The burger was SO bland, no flavor at all. The onion shoestraws were disgusting-almost raw and not crunchy AT ALL. Our food took forever, but our server kept assuring us it was almost up. Our server was good about filing up our drinks, but everything just took so long to get it felt like. Bathrooms smelt like piss and old water, pee all over all of the bathroom seats, you could tell no one had been in there in a while to clean it. Probably won't come back here, wasn't impressed at all, nor was anyone I was with there!

Consistent bad service at this red robin. Which is a shame since almost all the other ones at which I've eaten have been good. Food comes out slow and cold, and lord help you if you come in with a party of more than 4. Hit up the Starlite for a better burger and better service.

The food is awesome. Service is terrible most of the time. The last time my husband and I were there, we received our food... then our drinks... then our appetizers. They are lucky the food is so good!

After an epic fail attempt at the $1 burritos for Panchero's (saw that comin, hah), we decided to just wander into Red Robin. Mostly because it was in the same parking lot. I thought maybe I was being too hard on them the first go around and wanted to give them another shot. Everyone has bad days. WRONG. I've decided that this place just plain sucks. The waitress was incredibly inexperienced or just bad, I couldn't decide. She seemed to have an unjustified sense of confidence in her crappy service. My order came with the wrong side and burger with no bacon. And by the time my new burger came out (seriously, why didn't they just bring a side of bacon to put on the burger I already had sitting in front of me??), BF was done with his entire burger (which was twice the size of mine, mind you) and he enjoyed watching me eat my food just as much as I enjoyed watching his. Within my first bite, the server came back and asked if this burger was better than the other one....like I had some problem with the "as-ordered" burger that was brought out before. So that was weird. Then like, 2 minutes later she comes over and asks if we want dessert, to which I basically say,"Well I'm not sure, I'm still eating my burger".. She dropped off the check and walked away. Is it really so hard to judge when is an appropriate time to offer the check? And I have to stand by my first review when I said that the burgers were good, but not great, and certainly not the best I've ever had.

  • C. H.

I've eaten at Red Robin perhaps 6 or 7 times and while not horrible it ain't great. You might ask why I kept going back? Put simply it was someone else that wanted to go, not me. The food and service are so so and not worth the price. There are many better options for dining out.

The only reason this place gets a star is for the Baseball's that make the american flag! I want one of those! The cheese burger I got was eatable but that's it, you would think a place that specializes in burgers that all there burgers would be exceptinal, but this was not I'd been here once before and wasn't impressed then either. The service was close to the worst that I've ever had as far as personality. I never wanter to come back to this place before and I know that I will never be back again!

  • Ashley S.

If I could break it down I'd give 2 stars for environment and the layout, 3 stars for service, and 3.5 stars for food. The environment is not very appealing to me. Then, one time I went, I sat elbow to elbow with strangers and kids eating on each side of me. REALLY?? We have had decent service. I got the wrong coleslaw once and I waited and waited for the waittress but I had my burger almost gone before I got the right slaw. She didn't charge for it. They have a new and improved menu. You can choose from about 4 different kinds of buns. I got the onion bun - delish. I just wish they stuck with the 'limited time' bacon ranch burger. Now you have the option of getting bacon...not just choosing from burgers with pre-selected ingredients. Once I got medium-well and it was perfect, then another time it was too done. No biggie, but what's the point of having the option? The new menu gives it a higher rating...but when I go next time it will be when they are not so busy. There is a wait most of the time.

I have been coming to Red Robin for ten years and have never been disappointed. I read some of the reviews and the one said something about it not being very classy and kids hanging all over the place. Well it's not classy and there are kids everywhere but that's what they're going for. They provide a fun night for families looking to eat out but not have to spend tons of money. I personally have always ordered the California Chicken. Try it.

The worst service in town. I've been here lots of times. I like the burgers well enough, though they keep taking the ones I like off of the menu. The appetizers are good too. It's getting 2 stars for me because of the service. It is hands down the worst service in town. Even if you arrive when the place is nearly empty, it takes forever. Expect long waits to get your order in, and an incredibly long wait to cook even one burger (with an empty restaraunt, I've easily had it take 25-30 mins to get one burger cooked for me). The place is often filled with employees off the clock, just standing around. It feels more like a clubhouse for employees than a business. I've seen as many as two dozen front of house employees in the place at a time, most of them standing around doing absolutely nothing. I've never seen (or worked at) another place where employees were allowed to just hang around in the dining area. It really leaves a bad taste in your mouth as a customer.

The burgers are good. Very good. The rest of the food is good as well. Service is fine. Prices are great... but wait... ...this is where things are not as they appear at first glance. They make up for their good food prices with absolutely outrageous prices on drinks. I get ice water most of the time.

I wish I could rate this one higher. Red Robin is a chain restaurant (stock symbol RRGB) with a really nice website ( redrobin.com ). This review is not meant to represent a typical experience at Red Robin. First impression - short wait time, but there were people crowded together in the front and kids hanging all over the place. The entry area of the restaurant had a sloppy appearance with the hostess station in plain view (stacks of silverware, menus and all this junk) and there was an exposed bartending area with rags and melting ice cubes on the counter. So, I did not like the atmosphere, it was not very classy. I would put it between Perkins and TGI Friday's. There was a TV on the floor and a TV in the bathroom showing college basketball. I guess they have a sports theme. I ordered the cheeseburger for $8.29. It took a while to get the food and the burger was not very warm. It had sweet pickles on it. I don't remember if the menu said anything about that, but I have never had sweet pickles on a hamburger and I didn't like it. The bottom bun was soggy. And the burger had mayonnaise on it, which made it taste a little like a Whopper. All in all, it was a decent meal, but you can get nearly the same thing with Hardee's 'six dollar burger' (they don't actually charge $6 for it). They have 'bottomless fries' which meant our friend Matt Hart, who didn't order anything, could eat some of ours. He even ordered some fries, but the waiter just told him he would get a plate and share ours.

We were greeted at the door in less than a minute, but the greeter had her back towards us when she said to follow her, making it difficult to hear her. And when asked what we wanted to drink she didn't mention what they had for options. Several employees in uniform eating and playing on their phones. Our server was Lacie, she was great! When she stopped by the first time we needed more time and she didn't come back too soon or wait too long to come back. She was very clear with our order and very polite, she had mentioned she was "still getting the hang of this" telling me she is relatively new and already a pretty good server. I also overheard her interact with the table across from us with two small children and she did very well with the kids! We sat on the other side of the kitchen and on the opposite side of the glass was a server's, Robin, drink that she kept coming back to drink... So we got to watch her drink several times right next to us. It was a bit awkward and unprofessional. If I just reach my arm out I could touch her drink. She may as well just sat her drink on our table!
